Tonight the Panthers (2-7) take on the Mansfield Timberview Wolves (3-6) for the final game of the season and senior night.
Last week the Panthers lost to South Grand Prairie with a final score of 44-12. The Panthers held the Warriors to only a touchdown in the first quarter, but the game got out of hand quickly as they scored 31 points in the second quarter. At halftime the score was 38-0 and the Panthers could never recover from the large deficit. Sophomore Stedman Lanigan had a great night, throwing the ball for 114 yards and two touchdowns. Senior running back Jaquan Cole caught seven passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns.
This week the Panthers are going up against another tough rushing attack led by senior running back Josh Smith who has rushed for 900 yards and 12 touchdowns on the season. The Panthers have a chance to end the season on a positive note going in to next year, but the offense and defense need to come up big. The Panthers need to play clean football with no turnovers and few penalties to be successful.
