This week’s match-up should be a tough one as District 7, 5A Rivals Cedar Hill and Duncanville clash for what should be a guaranteed spot in the playoffs for the victor, but this is Texas High School football so you never know.

Cedar Hill, whose record is 2-2  and has a state rank of 15 coming off of a 47 to 20 loss to DeSoto, is looking to rebound and keep their high ranking as they take on the 23rd ranked  Panthers.

Your Duncanville Panthers looked for their first district win versus the Midlothian Panthers to see who the real Panthers of the district are last wek and came away 1-0 in district play.

Duncanville heading into an early homecoming game vs Midlothian looked to stop District 7-5A  leading rusher Victor Williams who still ended up with 167 yards and a touchdown, but Duncanville came out with the better end of the deal as Duncanville earned a 19 -17 victory in a last second nail biter.

Drake had a decent game with 168 yards and two touchdowns. Give Midlothian credit where credit is due as they stayed in the game giving Duncanville all they could handle. This victory is also a good sign for Duncanville as they stayed calm and didn’t erupt like past Duncanville teams. This showed the heart and character of this team and it will show later down the road.

“This team made plays when they needed to,” head coach Jeff Dicus said.  “This year’s Panthers are the first to be 3-1 in a long while.”
