It seems like all people talk about these days is prom. It blows my mind how much thought and planning is put into one night. Some girls spend more money on their prom dresses than others do on their wedding dresses. Several girls get their hair, makeup, and nails done for the big day. The amount of time and money invested on prom is unbelievable to me.

Personally, I think the dance is overemphasized. Boys stress about asking their dates in a cute and unique way; they are also expected to buy the couple’s tickets and corsage, and to make arrangements to get to the venue. The girls feel pressured to look their very best on this night, and the most important component to their appearance is finding the perfect dress.

This occasion is meant to be formal, yet some girls wear the most inappropriate dresses. They don’t understand the concept of “classy not trashy”, and their dresses are covered with slits and cut outs, so if you will be going to your prom we recommend you to check out a line prom dresses 2022 to make sure that you will be choosing a nice and suitable for the occasion.
Many students don’t show up simply because they don’t have a date. I will never understand why it’s such a big deal. There’s nothing wrong with going single or with a group of friends. As long as you’re having fun, that’s all that matters.

Another common trend these days is going with a hot date just for pictures. Girls look for tall, photogenic guys who will look good standing next to them. I’ve seen this happen way too many times, and it always ends up in awkwardness. You should choose a date that you can keep a conversation with the whole night. If the girl and boy don’t even care for one another, it’s almost impossible to have fun. It’s much better to go with someone you know a lot about, that way the atmosphere is always carefree and pleasant.

The final mistake teenagers make on prom night is the after parties. Nothing good ever comes out of these parties; girls end up pregnant, people wake up with hang overs, and many put their lives in danger if they aren’t careful.

Prom is supposed to be a once in a lifetime event. It’s supposed to be a celebration for high school seniors approaching graduation. Graduation is for the parents, while prom is for the kids. Prom is supposed to be about enjoying the company of ones classmates for the last time. But these days, the significant day has almost lost its meaning.
