After three months of preparation the high hats will showcase their annual spring show this Friday and Saturday at 7 in the Alexander auditorium. Tickets will be $5 when bought from any High Hat or will cost $6 at the door.

“Its going to be a fabulous show,” High Hats assistant director Tasha Franklin said. “The show has amazing costumes and dances, and I can’t wait to see it all come together.”

This year’s theme “Remember The Times” celebrates Kristi Beaty’s 25 years of directing the High Hats.

“The show is basically Mrs. Beaty’s 25 years as a high hat director all in two hours,” Franklin said. “Everyone needs to be there because it’s probably the best spring show I’ve been involved in since I started working here.”

The high hat officers and Franklin came up with the theme to celebrate and honor Beaty’s 25 years.

“My officers came up with ‘Remember The Time’ and the costumes and that’s when everything fell into place,” Beaty said. “It turned out different from what I thought it would be, but when my officers came to me with their ideas and incorporated them it was better than I imagined.”

There will be 250 high hat alumni coming to support. They will be coming with a big surprise for their former director.

“Last year I told my alumni that it was my 25th year and  wanted someone from each year talk,” Beaty said. “Now they have been secretly planning something behind my back.”

Although the show is based on Beaty, she is more excited to see all of her former students together.

“It’s a big honor and it’s every humbling,” Beaty said.  I think it’s cool we can all come to celebrate the 25 year of me doing the job I love.”
