Apple unveils new products, upgrades at annual keynote

As per tradition, Apple held their yearly keynote yesterday and unveiled a couple of new products. If you were unfortunate enough to miss the live stream, or you just didn’t care enough to watch, here’s what you missed.

Apple’s new phone, the iPhone 6s and 6s plus, was unveiled yesterday. New features include:

3D touch: Which makes the phone able to detect the force of your finger touching the screen, similarly to the iWatch

New 12-megapixel iSight camera

50% ppi increase (which allows 4k video quality)

The new iPhone comes in two models, the 6s and the 6s plus, with a base price of $649 and $749 respectively. Both can come in:

Grey

Space Grey (black)

Gold

Rose Gold

Pre-Orders start 9/12.

 

Apple-iPad-ProNew iPad Pro and iPad mini 4:

iPad Pro is a new member of the iDevice family. Features include:

12.9in display

64-bit A9X chip (it’s fast and efficient)

Four-speaker audio system

8-mexapixel iSight camera

Touch ID

iPad mini 4 is the new generation of the iPad family; it’s roughly the same size as the previous iteration, but its insides are more like the iPad Air making it faster and more efficient.

The iPad mini 4 is available now and iPad Pro is set for a November release.

Apple also unveiled the next generation of the Apple TV with a new redesigned OS (called tvOS in case you couldn’t figure it out). Features include:

A full App Store with games

Siri integration

More voice-controlled actions

This product is set to release in late October.

iOS 9

With a new phone comes a new iOS update. Main features in this update include:

Improved Siri making it more context sensitive

General improvements to apps like Notes and Maps

New “News” app via “Filpboard” style
