Congratulations to the Duncanville High School Marching Band and High Hats for being recognized as the “BEST BAND IN THE LAND” on 99.5 the Wolf! The band was entered in a weekly contest and were the winners for the week of September 25. On Friday morning at 7:08 am the band was honored for their accomplishments on air so that all of the DFW area could hear.

The Wolf’s review consisted of all the success that the band has brought throughout the 30 years that they’ve been known as one of the best bands in the state of Texas.

Radio DJ Lisa Taylor said this of the band, “Duncanville has advanced to the State Marching Contest every year for the past 27 years – bringing home the UIL State Marching Championship in 1986, 1990 and 2002. Known also for its size, the Duncanville High School Marching band is the largest group ever to win a Texas State Marching Championship. This year’s band is made up of 450 members. When they travel, band members, directors and their props require 18 buses, two full-size box trucks and a semi! The Duncanville High School Marching Band will be performing at the Plano East Marching Invitational on October 10th, the UIL Marching Contest on October 17th and at our own Duncanville Marching Invitational on October 24th.”

The Duncanville Band doesn’t settle for any thing less than success, and this recognition will only push them to strive even higher this season. They are honored.
