Change in policy allows students to wear variety of chords at commencement

Principal Carlos Meekins has now declared that all chords will be acceptable to wear at graduation. This decision overturns the previous rule that limited students to wearing honor chords at graduation.

This decision will allow members of organizations like Academic Decathlon and Student Council to show their pride in their accomplishments.

It will also allow students to be recognized for their blood donations. Seniors can earn their chord by donating twice this year, and there are two opportunities left for them to do so: February 19 and March 10 (though the second date is now tentative to change).
