Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events

Starting in 1999 with it’s first book release, ‘Lemony Snicket A Series of Unfortunate Events’ has recently came out with a netflix original. Not hearing anything about the book series since the release of the movie in 2004, the Baudelaire children have resurfaced.

This great series stars Violet, 14, the oldest out of the 3 siblings who loves to invent things, Klaus, 12, the middle child who is one of the most intelligent kids you’ll ever meet, and Sunny, 2, the youngest child who enjoys to bite things. The show often lines up with the book series, and from the very start you learn why the first book is titled is ‘A Bad Beginning.’

It starts off with the three children at the beach enjoying the gloomy weather, when Mr. Poe (a banker), informs the children that their parents have perished in a terrible fire at their home, including most of their belongings. The children who were once with loving parents are now orphans. They are soon forced into foster care with a horrid man named Count Olaf, who doesn’t care for children.

He tries to find a way into their estate and comes up with marrying Violet, who as you remember is 14, not even mentioning that they are third or fourth cousins. He disguises their wedding as a play called, ‘The Marvelous Marriage.’ Although his marriage plan sounds fool proof, the 3 extremely smart children ruin Olaf’s plans. At this point all his hard work is flushed down the drain, forcing him to run and devise a new plan.

Before his departure, although he will make a soon reappearance, Olaf makes a promise to Violet, “I’ll get my hands on you if it’s the last thing I do…And when I have it, I’ll kill you and your siblings with my own two hands.”

This is only the beginning of their Unfortunate Events.
