Pantherettes Advance to Regional Title Game

In what could likely be there biggest challenge of the season so far, the Pantherettes will face Irving MacArthur for the 5A Region I girls title.

The Pantherettes advance to this game after a relatively easy 60-29 walk through against Amarillo. In fact through out most of the playoffs the team has knocked out all there opponents without too much difficulty.

Duncanville’s constant pressure forced several turnovers against Amarillo and produced steals that in turn led to points for the Pantherettes. Amarillo was never really given a chance to step into the game, the Ducanville defense was too solid.

Earlier in the day, MacArthur faced Lubbock Coronado in what was a closer game. MacArthur came out with a victory of 76-62.

Both teams are very good, and it’s likely that which ever team advances out of the Duncanville-Irving MacArthur game, will go on to win the state title. In fact it’s a shame that this game itself is not the state title game. But this game will surely be captivating and not disappoint.
