Panthers to face Midlothian in first district game

Friday the Panthers (1-2) are taking on the Midlothian Panthers (3-0) in their first district game of the 2012-2013 season. Midlothian is coming in to Friday’s game undefeated after beating Northwest 21-9.
Midlothian runs a solid running offense led by senior running back Justin Seeton and senior quarterback Bryce Fausett. The Midlothian offense ran for 239 yards last week and two touchdowns.
Last Friday the Panthers took out Mesquite Horn in a thrilling game that went down to the wire. On both sides of the ball the Panthers came up and made big plays at the right time.
“I think our confidence is starting to grow at the right time,” head coach Jeff Dicus said. “And heading in to Friday night’s game at Midlothian we are feeling confident.”
The Mesquite Horn game was a big morale booster coming in to district this year. The Panther’s defense is going to have to stop the run for the Panthers to have a good chance of winning Friday’s game. The road to playoffs start now, but each game in district is crucial for the Panthers. They can’t take any games off and they must stay focused in the present.
“We better strap our helmets on and be ready to play each week,” Dicus said. “There’s not going to be a week off and it’s going to be a dogfight.”
