Pantherettes look to finish district strong against Desoto

On Tuesday the Pantherettes take on Desoto in their final district game of the year. The Pantherettes are (34-0) overall this season and (13-0) in district. Desoto is coming off of a loss against Midlothian last Friday.  The final score was Midlothian 31 Desoto 26. Desoto has an overall record of (25-6) and a district record of (9-4).

The Pantherettes have dominated almost all of their games this year and have been tested only a few times this year. Junior guard Ariel Atkins is the leading scorer for the Pantherettes and averages 16.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Senior forward Kiara Perry is the second leading scorer on the team averaging 14.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

The Pantherettes have already locked up the number one seed in the district and they’re looking to win back to back state championships. Desoto is going to be looking for the upset against the Pantherettes, but as long as they play solid defense, then the Pantherettes can remain undefeated for the regular season. The Pantherettes have won 67 straight games in a row dating back to last season which is an incredible accomplishment.

Once again the Pantherettes take on Desoto in Destot at 6:00 on Tuesday.
