The Pantherettes start their journey to state on Monday against Killeen in the bi district round of playoffs. Killeen comes into the game (17-11) and finished (8-6) in district play. Killeen averages 29.4 a game this season and they’re led by senior forward Jasmine Goodwine who averages 19.5 points and 8.7 rebounds a game. If the Pantherettes want to win, they have to shut down Goodwine. She averages over half of Killeen’s points this year and with the strong defense that Duncanville exhibits this should be an easy win.

The Pantherettes come into Monday’s game undefeated at (35-0) and (14-0) in district play. They are the second ranked team in the nation and are looking to move up in the rankings. The Pantherettes 64.5 points a game with junior guard Ariel Atkins leading the way with 16.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.

This game is start to repeating another state championship and the Pantherettes are very capable of defending their title, but it’s going to take teamwork, strong defense, and a bit of luck.

The Pantherettes take on Killeen at 7:30 at West High School which is right outside of Waco. It is about an hour drive the high school from Duncanville.
