Hidden Figures a must see movie.

Hidden Figures is a must see movie about a team of African American women working at NASA during the 1950s and 1960s. Based on a true story, three female protagonists receive promotions that allow them to work at a higher pay.

Main character Katherine G. Johnson, played by Taraji P. Henson, receives an assignment as a “computer” to recount the numbers to launch man into space. Dorothy Vaughan, performed by Octavia Spencer, is the older of the three and has the role as the supervisor to the group of black “computers” and is not paid as one.

Mary Jackson, acted by Janelle Monáe, was asked to work hands-on with a machine that keeps the hot flames out and protect the astronaut. All three women were raising the pedestal that kept the citizens segregated from one another, each capable of working in the fields dominated by the white race yet was still looked down upon.

This movie was absolutely amazing. The director had a way of being able to connect with the audience, where they made the viewers feel what the women in the West Campus felt yet it wasn’t forced upon them. The movie is a movie everyone must watch, and know the history of these women who struggled to become successful.
