Players celebrate after Coach Reginal Samples speech after a victory vs Allen in the state semi-finals.

On Saturday at AT&T Stadium, the Duncanville Panthers defeated the Allen Eagles in the state semi-finals.  It was the first win for the Panthers over Allen, a team they have faced twice in the last 3 years.  After jumping out to a 35-14 lead at halftime, the Panthers held off a furious rally that saw Allen tie the game 35-35 in the fourth.  Duncanville would hold on to prevail and now advance to the state championship game.  For the players and coaches on this staff, they finally feel like they have overcome a huge hurdle and may now get the respect they deserve.  “It’s a great feeling,” Duncanville quarterback Ja’Quinden Jackson said.

For Duncanville, this season was filled with nay sayers. Despite sporting the number one defense in 6A, and being undefeated, the Panthers found themselves as underdogs vs Lamar in the third round.  Again vs Southlake Carrol and again vs Allen.  Against Southlake and Lamar, they won easily but still where not taken serious.  This win ended Allen’s 30 game win streak and now has the Panthers gaining the national attention they deserve.

Duncanville will face North Shore in the 6A State Championship this Saturday at AT&T Stadium.
