The Duncanville High School Baseball team has been very successful this past year. In the year 2019 this group of talented young men won first in District. The team has put a lot of hard work and they finally got the Field they deserve. A couple of the players shared their thoughts about the field. Senior, Rolando Ramirez, claims that the field makes the rest of his team mates excited for the new season to compete on new grounds. Senior , Alexander Sierra, thinks that this new field was very much needed and it will allow the program to grow as a team.

Everyone has a different perspective on this team. Junior ,Jackson Todd ,considers the team as his own family and pretty much the rest of the team considers themselves family too. “ It’s as if when you walk into the locker room and you know everybody there has your back “ Junior , Jonas Gipson tells us. “The coaches push the players to their best even if they don’t feel like working out, those are the days they push the team the most ”says Rolando Ramirez. “The teammates have a lot of passion and they input all their work into it.” says senior Joshua Barrios. This Team has a lot of potential with practicing 8th block and after school ,these guys have it all and they will win once again this new season starting Feb. 8th 2020.

To many of these players, they have been in the program since they have been in the 7th grade ! Each player has grown as a player and they have all improved their skills since they first started . The best part of it all is that the program is FREE! Which is senior ,Jeremiah Jones favorite thing about the program. They get to do what they love at no cost. Junior, Pierce Beaty,  says that he puts a lot of time after school and even before school. To players like Junior , Eric Gallegos, who says “ The program is my way to de stress from the day and have fun and get better,” it’s the thing the look forward to the most after a long day at school.

Many of these players are playing professional baseball after high school and college. Senior , Jose Carranza , says that “ we all love the game and have a vision of our future, whatever that may be.” Even if they don’t continue they all put their heart and soul on that field and do the very best they can. With this new field the team deserves the very best of luck in their future season. Jermiah Jones shares with us that the last time they won state was in 1990 this could be the year these young men win it all.
