The end of the district season is not far from view. Some teams already have the post-season in mind, while others would rather look forward to the next year.

The Panthers are one of the teams heading to the playoffs but they also have a little something extra to look forward to. Their last game of the district season is against their long time neighboring rival, Cedar Hill.

“This is the biggest game of the year,” senior wide receiver Jeff Thomas said. “It also being the last game of the season just makes us more anxious to play.”

For many players and coaches, this is the game they get most excited about. Regardless of the standings in district, the games between these two teams are always full of emotion and excitement.

Cedar Hill is undefeated. While at the beginning of the year it seemed like they would struggle a bit, they have proven otherwise. But they still haven’t been playing at a top level that is expected from them. With that said they are a very good team that should never be taken lightly, especially when facing the Panther

Duncanville head into the game with a 4-2 district record. They are a very resilient team that will fight until the end, often coming back from deficits to win the game. The numbers don’t speak too accurately of this team, they are very good and can put up a match against almost any team. But they haven’t shown as much of that talent as many people expected them to.

The Panthers do have a big advantage, however, the game will be at their stadium, where they are undefeated.

“This is the game that everyone has had marked down on their calenders,” Coach Dicus said. “We want to continue our home winning streak and keep our swag going.”

Alot of the players already know what it means to play against Cedar Hill, but for senior quarter back Deandre Grimes it’ll be a new experience.

“I can see it means a lot to everyone at the school and the players,” Grimes said, ” I really can’t feel how they feel but I really know they want the win.”

Regardless of who you are rooting for, or if your a neutral fan, Friday’s game will be enjoyable for all who attend. The winner will have bragging rights that will carry over well after the football season ends.
