Tonight the varsity girls’ soccer team will head to Mansfield to face an undefeated Mansfield Timberview team, Timberview have won three of their games and tied the other one.

With the middle of the season rapidly approaching in the next week, this week will be important for the team.

Coach Hash has a talented group and the experience is definitely there. Most of the team consists of seniors, many of whom have played together for years, and they are no strangers to the varsity level. Because of this, team chemistry is also at a high for the team.

However some of the problems carried on from the past year. Last year the team had a big issue with scoring, there simply were not enough players to cover the forward position and the team suffered. This year they have done a better job of covering the position with a few convincing performances.

This is a team that was accustomed to finishing at the top of the standings a few years ago. And they should expect it based on the quality of the team.

The girls currently sit right below Mansfield in the district standings with a 2-2 record, while Timberview is second in the standings. It will be crucial for the team to pick up a win here in order to continue with their aspirations toward the playoffs. With a win the girls could possibly move up to third in the standings before facing a struggling Legacy team later on this week.
