Tonight the Panther volleyball team will travel to South Grand Prairie for their game at 6:30. The Panthers need to win as many games as possible in order to advance to the play-offs. So, the past week’s game against Mansfield was a critical point of the season.
In the first set the serve receive ultimately gave the set away, 10-25. Few balls were getting dug to target and they were not in sync through out the match.
“We need to focus on our passes,” coach Lyn Evans said, “That is the only way we will get killable sets.”
At this point the panthers were motivated and began to fight hard for every point. They improved their serve receive and placed many of the balls to the floor. They fell short of the match, 23-25. The coaches were disappointed with the girls performance, they feel as if they aren’t leaving everything on the court. The Panthers couldn’t figure out what they were doing wrong and ended set three, 14-25.
Sub-Varsity
Earlier in the season sub-varsity saw the Tigers play at a tournament, the team bonded well on the court and were in-sync. This intimidated the Panthers coming into the Friday night match. The girls couldn’t quite get to the line balls and hard hits, which cost them the sets, 10-25. In set two the girls came back and turned the game around, 25-23. In the final set they couldn’t get into a rhythm and ended the game 14-25.
