Duncanville was going to need a big night from the defense to pull out a win against our cross town rivals.
Senior quarter back Aaron Piper got the ball on the first play of the game and ran the ball to the end zone for a 58 yard touchdown. The longhorns would come back to score two touchdowns before the end of the first quarter.
The longhorns had a 14-7 lead over Duncanville until junior running back Derrell Haynes caught a ten yard pass from Piper to tie the game at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter the longhorns came out with a vengeance and scored four unanswered touchdowns and their defense shut down the panther offense for the rest of the half making the score Cedar Hill 37 and Duncanville 14.
In the third and fourth quarters Duncanville tried to make a comeback with touchdowns scored by junior running back William Jackson and senior running back Jaquan Cole, but the margin was too big to make up. The final score was 44-27.
This week Duncanville has a bye week and next week they will take on the Grand Prairie Gophers (2-3) for homecoming at Panther Stadium.
