The Duncanville High School Marching Band performed in the Region 20 UIL marching contest on Oct. 20. The band earned a first division rating which will now advance the group to the Area marching contest held in Mesquite on Oct. 27.
Performance times for the Area marching contest will be announced later this week. For every five bands that attend the area contest, one band advances to the 5A Texas State Marching Contest which will be held in San Antonio at the Alamodome. The band hopes to be one of the three or four bands chosen to advance from the Area level, and earning the first division rating this weekend was the first step in the process. Pictures and video of the band’s UIL performance are coming soon.
Look for photos, video and extended story later.
