The Visual Arts Department recently came back from the Regional Art Contest with 21 gold medals in three different divisions.
“I wish I would’ve went further. I was surprised that I got this far though,” junior Sara Hamby said.
Two students from the art department, seniors Josimar Hernandez and Ala Ismail, won gold medals and one student, Annette Hernandez, advanced to the state competition.
“I didn’t really think that I would advance but I could feel it in my gut,” senior Josimar Hernandez said, “it took more than 12 hours for each piece I entered.”
