Tonight the library will host a Winter Olympic themed open house event for those attending the scheduled events at the high school.

“The purpose to attract patrons to our library and get them focused on some events going on in our world,” Librarian Blanca Patlan said.

The Open house will feature events that were deemed entertaining enough to bring people into the library.These events will include things for all the family. The event will begin at 6:30 and go until open house ends.

“There is a snowball (sock) throwing, we have a cakewalk, that is like passing the torch for the Winter Olympic theme and the winner will get a book,” Patlan said “We have buttons, and everybody gets an Olympic lanyard and ribbons for joining.”

Many things will be offered in hopes that people will be lured into the library.

“It’ll have everything, fun, food, entertainment, books, prizes,” Patlan said.

The main point of the carnival is still promoting the library.

“We hope people will focus on the library and what it has to offer,” Patlan said.
